Maps! Maps! And more Maps!!!

Biomes Map
Continental map
As we construct the amazing World of Epimetheus there are things that we must consider to keep our world unique and well-balanced. Will this world have similar biomes to earth? Could there be additional biomes? What resources are in the game and where can they be found? How about wildlife, where will they habitate? What will they consume and how often will they propagate (spawn babies)?

How about the realms of magic? Is there an underworld? A hell? Hades? Perhaps different dimensions? How will the mechanics of all this fit in to the gameplay? What features will be built into the server? How will the spiritual realm influence that of magic or the mundane? Does elemental magic function the same as sorcerer's powers or magician's incantations?

These questions and more have worked their way in to the very fabric of this amazing world that we are building. With no major financier trying to direct any aspect of the game we are free to make it as involved and detailed as we like. And people, do we like detailed. There is a team energy built around the idea that "Quality can be delivered through copious amounts of personal investment". In other words, the more time you spend on anything, the better the quality is inevitably going to be.

While advances in icons, images and content continues to blossom awkward glances are being tossed at the map folders. Avid followers will remember that map making is not a favorite task for anyone currently on the team. It's like cleaning the toilet, you know it has to be done, but you are praying it isn't you that has to do it. Yeah, it is like that, so don't judge, you judgy judge judy.

Looking back we have crafted: an amazing continental map, a basic biome map, a national map for Aborlon, maps for each nation in Aborlon, begun territorial maps, a global trade map, and a global Ley-lines map for elemental magic. Capitals and major cities have been decided upon, names have been adjusted in many venues of the world and races are now planted all over the Amazing World of Epimetheus. Yes fans, we have been a busy little team.

But our gaze should never stay looking back for long, need to stay focused on where we are going. So looking ahead we will need to finalize maps for the continent of Aborlon. The first game release will be a server covering the continent of Aborlon. There will be seven servers tied in together, one for each continent. Smaller continent servers will house the underworld, spiritual realm and the realms of magic. Aborlon is the first server we will release. The first server will introduce some of the more RPG popular races of mythology and each new release will be the introduction of: a new continent, playable races, professions, wildlife, pets, familars, mounts, content and cinematography. Bringing dreams to life right? (article

To this end, advances in maps will now solely revolve around the continent of Aborlon. More detail needs to be added to: the biomes map, territorial maps for each nation (race), road maps, resource maps, city plans, world wonders, and various other undetermined tasks which are sure to arise. Skill with the paint.net app is steadily improving, this of course aides in the ability to improve adding detail and in our speed efficiency. Well, that's
what we tell ourselves anyhow.

  1. Maps...maps and more maps!
As always, they came out beautiful in my opinion. And boy.....it took a lil time didn't it? Yes....it did....if I remember correctly. Great job!

Four phases to the game of release is a pretty good idea. Having that foretell laid out in advance for potential players and fans was a good approach to break down. Gives time for one to "walk" into the game, not "run" into the game. Especially well suited for beginners who would like to check it out and not be over burdened with all the game entail as an overload for some players.

I think the biomes came out well....maybe not in detail, but an overall display.....good.

The continent map is well mapped and detailed. Love how that come out. Almost has you thinking its an actual map......PING!

Love the work, as always. Ima fan!
    LETS GET IT!
