HISTORY

Kanjin rises from the mountainous heart of Epimetheus, an ancient nation not built upon stone but grown from it. The Rock Trolls, born of divine design and bound to the earth through sacred origin, live in quiet accordance with the mountains they inhabit. Governance rests with the eldest pair nearing their return to the Earth’s body, a transition viewed not as death but reunion. Authority passes without struggle; land is not owned but entrusted. Each tribal territory borders a Sacred Glenn where the presence of Mastiff, Gaia, and Accura is most deeply honored beneath the faith of the Heavy Pillar. Troll society is renowned for its communal strength — individuals display natural strengths at birth, yet no caste divides them. Their purpose is shared: guard, nurture, and maintain balance.

To the east stretch the lifeless Barrens, a scar upon the world and the greatest concern of Kanjin. There dwell the Cyclops — one-eyed brutes who dig vast wounds into the earth, subjugate wildlife, and twist ecosystems into tools of chaos. Where Trolls preserve, Cyclops consume. Where Trolls see sacred stewardship, Cyclops see dominion. Between these peoples exists a blood feud older than memory. The Trolls do not seek expansion, but they will not permit imbalance to spread westward. Along the eastern approaches, stone watchpoints stand eternal. When Cyclopean excavations creep too near sacred ground, the mountains respond — not in rage, but in inevitability.

Northward lie the frozen heights of the Great White Expanse, homeland of the Yeti, a harsh but largely undisturbed realm of tundra and ice. To the south rise perilous mountain chains flanked by violent, crashing oceans — a natural barrier few races dare attempt. Thus Kanjin stands ringed by severity: chaos to the east, ice to the north, impassable stone and sea to the south, and the wary Goblins of Ord to the west. Ancient and serene, the Trolls do not crave dominion. They exist as equilibrium made flesh. Yet though their later legras bring aloof calm, dishonor or ecological violation can rouse them with terrifying force. Mountains do not chase war — but neither do they retreat from it.
